Cello- Clara Tsang 曾鳳

Clara Tsang graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in Music (Cello Performance). She studied under different cellists, including Richard Bamping and Ray Wang, and attended master classes of Timothy Landuer, Gerhard lberer and Martin Menking. She also learnt from Orlando Cole, Bion Tsang, Thomas Gossenbacher, Artem Konstantinov and Ariel Barnes. During her study period, she was already actively involved with a variety of musical projects, including working with choreographer and dancer Mui Cheuk-yin. As a CASH composer, she collaborated with different artists and musicians, such as Jim Tsim Shui-Man. In 2000, Clara made a recording of Lalo’s concerto with RTHK. She has performed with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, the New Philharmonic of Hong Kong, the Pan-Asia Symphony Orchestra, and the Macau Chamber Orchestra. She has played with the Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra as the principle cellist.

 She was invited to join the Pacific Music Festival (2005 ) in major cities such as TokyoNagoyaOsaka, and Sapporo, with conductors Jun Märkl and Nello Santi. In 2012 she was invited by The Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Pacific in Canada and played under the baton of Arthur Arnold. In 2008 she gave her first cello recital.

 She has participated in numerous music videos, live shows and CD recordings for pop singers and music groups of different genres. In 2011 Clara joined Pony Leung at the Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival. Her passion in bringing music to as many people as possible has led her to establish Hong Kong Cellist Society in 2004, which comprised of an annual Hong Kong Cello Festival, Young Musicians Performance Program (YMPP) and Cappuccino Moment. She believes that everyone should have an opportunity to understand and benefit from classical music, and this conviction drives her in the pursuit of finding more ways to connect classical musicians with our society.

Piano- Bernard Hui 許彬融 

Bernard Hui is an energetic and experienced crossover pianist and music educator in Hong Kong for more than twenty years. He graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) and Chinese Mission Seminary respectively. He acquired a Bachelor of Music (Honor), a Professional Diploma and a Master of Divinity. Studying at HKAPA, he majored in piano performance, pipe organ performance and electronic music. Over the years, his improvisation skill has gained applauding feedback.

 As a performer of gracious artistic spirit, Bernard is active and vibrant on stage. He has given performance in many different places ranging from the Cultural Centre, City Halls of different districts and HKAPA. He also performed with different local choirs and orchestras. In 2003, he was invited by the renowned conductor Yip Wing-sie to be the organ soloist for the inauguration of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra inGuangzhou. The year after, he was honored again to play as the organ soloist for the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra’s concert “The Wonderful World of Reeds”. His marvelous and distinguished performing style and talent has acquired public recognition.

 With strong enthusiasm and passion, Bernard founded Aleatory Jazz Ensemble with his fellow jazz artists in 1996 with a heart for promoting keyboard improvisation and jazz music in the local culture. His jazz band has given live shows held at many different venues in Hong Kong with impressive performance since its establishment. In addition to Bernard’s playing, he also gives speech on church music in different churches in an effort to uplift the quality of church music in worships. Currently, Bernard is a lecturer at both the Hong Kong International Institute of Music and Chinese Mission Seminary.
